About us (Welcome to CCC!)

We are a Non-Profit Organization called CCC,
which is short for Community Cat Care.

Our philosophy lies in the idea that all humans should respect and help all beings on this planet, as other’s life is part of our life; it is oneness.

We started this volunteer-run NPO activities in Yomitan-son, Okinawa in order to create a better community for both habitants & cats.

Any cats must not be euthanized at Authority’s shelter. We aim to neuter, rescue, rehabilitate & rehome. Also raise an awareness on cat welfare. Zero-euthanized but humanely reduce stray cat population is our ultimate goal.

CCC has only volunteers, which have their own full-time jobs, but are dedicated in making a difference.

About TNR

We aim to reduce the population of stray cat by Trap, Neuter, and Return ( TNR ) procedures.

It is said that a single cat can bear 30 kittens in one year.
In 2 years, that’s over 80 kittens, and in 3 years, that can lead to over 2,000 kittens.
We capture stray cats, neuter or spay them and then return them to the community where we continue to care for them as “local cats”.

The trapped cats are taken swiftly to a veterinary surgery to be neutered. Also, they receive an ear-tip under anesthetic. It signifies that they have been “ TNRed ”and prevent the same cat being trapped for neutering in future. After the surgery, the cats will be returned back to their territory.

We continue to monitor them as “Community cared Cats” for signs of illness or injury and take action.

We cut the cats’ ears in the shape of “V” as a sign that they have been spayed.TNR means,Trap, Neuter, and Return.
According to our research, the population from one female cat will increase by 2,000 in the next three years.

Stray cats become the Community cared cats (TNR, monitored / caretaken by area habitants) then become the House cats /pets
